Grief is not reserved for the most important people in our
lives. We can feel deeply for anyone who matters to us. The nature of our
relationship with someone, how much we admire, love, or how much time we spend
with him/her can all affect us deeply. Sometimes our grief is also impacted by
the role someone had in our life: mom, daughter, brother, granddad or
colleague. Unfortunately, our culture does not always acknowledge the grief for
people who do not have a traditional or familial role in our life. But every
loss you feel is important.
