I lost my husband last August, not due to COVID, but due to that other C word - cancer. Having serious health issues during a pandemic is more draining than they would be normally; whenever he had to go into the hospital for immunotherapy, I had to wait in the car. When he developed a kidney infection and was admitted to the hospital, I couldn’t be with him. I felt like I was letting him down then, leaving him to fight it alone. Now that he’s gone, I am the one fighting alone, and it’s one of the most difficult battles I’ve faced. He wouldn’t want me to give up though, so I’m doing my best not to let him down.
